Jio Introduces Spam Call and Message Control Feature via MyJio App

Reliance Jio has launched an innovative feature within its MyJio app, enabling users to block spam calls and messages more effectively. This development is a response to increasing concerns over unwanted promotional communications and scams.

Key Features of the Update

  1. Spam Blocking: Users can now enable settings to block all or specific categories of spam calls and messages.
  2. Customizable Preferences: Through the app, users can selectively allow or block communications, ensuring critical messages like OTPs are not missed.
  3. Easy Activation:
    • Open the MyJio app.
    • Go to the More menu and navigate to Service Settings.
    • Choose the Do Not Disturb (DND) option and select between full blocking or customized settings.

This feature aligns with broader efforts by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to mitigate unsolicited communication, which has long been a source of frustration for users across India. TRAI is set to implement stricter rules for promotional message traceability starting December 2024, reinforcing the industry’s commitment to combating spam and fraud
