Required Qualifications & Experience
Essential Qualifications
- Educational Background: LL.B. or equivalent degree from a reputed institution.
- Bar Admission: Must be a practicing advocate admitted to the Bar Council of India.
- Total Legal Experience: A minimum of 3 to 7 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in high-stakes litigation.
- Specialized Experience: Proven, hands-on experience in at least two of the following areas:
- Criminal Litigation (especially White-Collar Crimes, Economic Offences).
- Cyber Law (IT Act, data breach, digital evidence).
- AML/PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) compliance and litigation.
- Banking & Finance litigation and advisory.
- Court Experience: Demonstrable history of successfully managing cases independently in high courts or equivalent tribunals.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Deep Regulatory Knowledge: Strong command of financial regulations, RBI guidelines, SEBI regulations, and related statutory frameworks.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with digital forensics processes and technology-assisted review (TAR).
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional legal research, drafting, and analytical capabilities.
- Communication: Fluent in English (written and spoken); knowledge of regional languages (Marathi/Konkani) is an advantage.
- Reporting: Reports directly to the Senior Partner in charge of specialized litigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Litigation Management: Manage and lead complex criminal, cyber, and regulatory cases from filing through to final judgment.
- Advisory: Provide expert legal opinions and strategic counsel to financial institution clients.
- Court Appearance: You must be prepared for a minimum of 17 days per month of mandatory court appearances and related fieldwork.
- Compliance: Assist clients with regulatory filings and internal investigations, focusing on AML and financial crime prevention.
