About the Firm & The Opportunity
We are a highly specialized, fast-growing law firm focused on complex, high-stakes litigation in Financial Crime, Cyber Law, and Regulatory Compliance. We are seeking a strategic, seasoned leader to take complete ownership of the non-legal operations of the firm.
The Firm Administrator will function as the business head, overseeing Finance, Human Resources, Technology, and General Operations. This executive role is critical to scaling the firm’s operations efficiently, ensuring profitability, and maintaining the highest standards of professional service.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Essential Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree required. A Master’s degree (MBA, M.Com, or equivalent) in Finance, Business Administration, or Management is strongly preferred.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 8 to 15 years of progressive senior-level management experience, with at least 5 years in an administrative or operational leadership role within a law firm, professional services company, or consulting organization.
- Core Competency: Proven track record in P&L management, financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for an SME or professional services organization.
- Leadership & HR: Demonstrated experience in managing the entire HR lifecycle, including recruitment, performance management, compensation, and team leadership.
- Technology Oversight: Experience managing IT infrastructure, data security protocols, and selecting/implementing core business systems (e.g., billing, CMS, accounting software).
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Law Firm Specific: Deep understanding of the specific operational challenges and ethical regulations governing law firms in India.
- Process Improvement: History of implementing process efficiencies (e.g., Lean or Six Sigma methodologies) to optimize workflow and reduce administrative overhead.
- Vendor Management: Expertise in negotiating and managing high-value contracts with vendors, landlords, and technology providers.
- Strategic Planning: Ability to translate the Partners’ vision into concrete operational goals and execution plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management (40%): Oversee all financial functions, including budgeting, billing, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and preparation of financial statements and performance metrics for the Partners.
- Human Resources (30%): Direct all HR functions, including recruitment strategy, onboarding, benefits administration, compensation review, and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
- General Operations (20%): Manage office infrastructure, facilities, purchasing, vendor relations, and insurance requirements. Ensure the physical and digital security of the firm’s assets.
- Strategy & Technology (10%): Collaborate with Partners on long-term business strategy, and oversee the adoption and maintenance of all legal and administrative technology systems.
