The Opportunity
This entry-level to junior role is designed for a highly driven individual looking to kick-start a specialized legal career. The Legal Researcher / Junior Analyst will be the backbone of our litigation support, providing critical research and analysis that directly influences case strategy.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Essential Qualifications
- Educational Background: LL.B. or equivalent law degree. Candidates with a background in Commerce/Finance (B.Com, BBA) prior to law are highly encouraged.
- Legal Experience (PQE): 1 to 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in a litigation-focused law firm or corporate legal department. Exceptional fresh graduates with demonstrated research prowess will be considered.
- Core Skill: Proven expertise in legal research using tools like Manupatra, SCC Online, and Westlaw.
- Analytical Ability: Demonstrated ability to read, comprehend, and summarize complex judgments, statutes, and regulatory guidelines (RBI, SEBI, PMLA, etc.).
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Subject Knowledge: Basic understanding or strong interest in White-Collar Crime, Financial Fraud, or Cyber Laws.
- Technical Proficiency: Competency in preparing data-intensive reports and presentations (Advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills are a plus).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Professionalism: High degree of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities
- Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth legal research on points of law, precedent, and statutory changes relevant to ongoing cases.
- Document Review: Assist in the organization, indexing, and preliminary review of large volumes of case documentation and digital evidence.
- Memo Drafting: Prepare clear, concise, and structured legal research memoranda and case summaries for senior lawyers.
- Case Support: Assist in drafting simple affidavits, applications, and managing court filing requirements.
- Fact-Finding: Collaborate with the team on fact-checking and evidence collection.
